Policy Statement

1. Purpose

  • This policy applies to all students enrolled in online certificate, undergraduate, or graduate programs. It ensures clear, fair, and timely collection of tuition and digital resource fees to maintain continuous access to the online learning management system (LMS).
  • IARSAC International University (IIU) is committed to delivering high-quality online education that matches the academic rigor, integrity, and learning outcomes of face-to-face programs. This policy establishes clear guidelines for regular interaction, academic honesty, and technical standards in all online courses.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, and academic departments involved in the delivery or enrollment of online courses and digital components.

3. Core Policy Statements

  • Regular and Substantive Interaction: Instructors must engage students through direct instruction, active discussion board facilitation, timely feedback on coursework, and scheduled synchronous or asynchronous sessions.
  • Academic Integrity: Students must uphold honesty in all digital assessments. Submissions must be original, and the unauthorized use of artificial intelligence or outside collaboration is prohibited unless explicitly permitted by the course syllabus.
  • Student Identity Verification: All students must use secure, password-protected credentials to access the learning management system. Courses may require verified identity tools or proctored digital examinations.
  • Accessibility and Technology: Courses must comply with accessibility standards. Students are responsible for meeting the minimum hardware, software, and digital competency requirements outlined prior to registration.

4. Fee Structure & Billing

  • Tuition Rates: Charged per credit hour or per term, varying by program level (undergraduate vs. postgraduate) and residency status.
  • Technology & Resource Fees: A mandatory flat fee per term covering access to the online portal, digital library, and 24/7 technical support.
  • Due Dates: All fees are due in full 14 calendar days before the official start date of each term, unless an approved payment plan is active.

5. Payment Methods

  • Online Portal: Secure credit, debit card, or electronic bank transfer processed directly through the student account dashboard.
  • Installment Plans: Available upon request via the finance office, allowing tuition to be split into monthly auto-debit installments for a small administrative fee.

6. Non-Payment & Late Penalties

  • Late Fees: Accounts past the due date incur a flat late charge.
  • Access Suspension: Failure to settle balances or secure a payment plan by the end of the add/drop week results in restricted access to online coursework, virtual classrooms, and final grades.

7. Refund & Withdrawal Policy

  • Full Refund: Withdrawals requested before the official first day of the term receive a 100% refund of tuition (excluding non-refundable registration deposits).
  • Prorated Refund: Withdrawals during the first 1 to 14 days of the term qualify for a tiered partial refund. No refunds are issued after 20% of the term has elapsed.

8. Modes of Payment

We offer 3 methods of fee payment to make it convenient for our students.

  • Bank Card: Students can pay online by debit or credit card. Payments made online will be in US dollars, and an additional card processing fee will be charged to the card.
  • Local Bank Transfer: Students in some countries can pay their fees to an IIU bank account within their country of residence in US dollars.
  • International Bank Transfer: Students can pay by wire transfer to our Malaysian bank account in US dollars. Any transfer charges that may occur during and at the receiving bank must be paid by the student, so any additional processing fees should be included in the transferred amount.

9. Return Policy

Please note that fees paid to IARSAC International University (IIU) are neither refundable nor transferable to another student under any circumstances. If a student pays the semester fees without enrolling in a course, the fee payment will be transferred to the next semester for the same student. Advanced payment of semester fees can be utilized to pay for other services such as ‘Late Course Drop Fine’ or ‘Grade Transfer Fee’, if a student so wishes.

10. Early Bird Discount

New students who register before the 1st of March or before the 1st of September for the Spring and Fall semesters respectively, will not only get early access to the study material before the semester begins, but also a 10% discount on their first semester fees.

11. Installment Plan

IIU offers a payment plan for students who are unable to pay the full semester fees at once. Under this plan, 50% of the fee is paid at the beginning of the semester and the remaining 50% before the midterm exams.

To avail this option, submit your application after your admission is confirmed. New students may also benefit from the early bird discount if the second installment is paid before the discount deadline.

12. Credit Transfer Fee

Students may apply for a credit transfer if they have successfully completed courses at another accredited university or college and those courses align with the IIU program they would like to join. They may request credit transfers for a maximum of 50% of the courses or credits in the IIU program they are applying for. Supporting documents (e.g. university transcripts) are required to be provided to the Registrar’s Office for credit transfer approval. Kindly note that a credit transfer differs from a course waiver; while a credit transfer recognizes a course as already completed, a course waiver requires the student to take a substitute course in place of the one that was waived.
